Increasing student’s knowledge of literature

We all know that literature is one of the most popular ways to deliver our emotions, feeling or thoughts. There are many literature products that can we use as a source of knowledge, entertainment, and arts. The kind of literature product that we can found easily around us like, music, poem, poetry, novel, and drama is the most favourable entertainment nowadays. Literature is not only for entertainment purpose only, it also can help students to study, especially about morale and history. Because the way we pass this knowledge is by oral, or by books. By learning literature, it can help students to gain motivation, understand better about history and morale, and the benefits of learning literature.

The reason of why we learn this literature is because literacy texts are motivating. Motivation is a key factor in learning, and language teaching materials are among the factors that can affect motivation in a positive or negative way (Picken, 2007). By choosing the right kind of literature it can bring motivation to the student, and they can study the material with high spirit that may result in better experience of studying. The way we deliver the literature material to the student is by using the content of the course like poem, poetry, or novel that can provide history and characteristic of literary movement to examine it (Lazar, 1993). Literature is offered because in genuine response to real demands for intelligent and engaging reading matter on the part of the more intellectual working classes and middle-class women with leisure and some income (Hall, 2005).  By providing literature in curriculum, students can learn about moral and history. It also can teach us the way intellectual workers do their job, so they have a foresight and can prepare what they need in the future.

In short, literature is the most important thing in human kind that can teach us about history and moral, it can be delivered with any shape of literature product such a poem, poetry, novel et cetera. The reason why literature is important is because it can motivate the student, help them better in understanding morale and history, also it can help the student in the future.
